Set for Spring

Check out this post on StyleBy.Me!

With Mother Nature teasing us with this whole warm/cold scenario, it’s hard to get excited for when the warm is actually here to stay. Lucky for me, it will be sooner than later. I will be traveling to Cozumel, Mexico in four weeks over Spring Break and I get giddy just thinking about it. Although I may not be totally read for my bikini, I have not hesitated to buy them...

How cute it this? And it’s available in 10 other colors!

One shouldered swimsuit? Why not! And it’s reversible to leopard print!

Stepping Out of the City

{Get a double dose of this post over at StyleBy.Me!}
__________________________________________

A few years ago, Olivia Palermo may have been known as just the girl from MTV’s “The City” but that is no longer the case. Palermo has become well-known in the fashion world attending Fashion Week, doing designer collaborations, and being placed on many best-dressed lists. If anyone has watched past episodes of the show, she is not portrayed as the nicest of girls but I have to hand it to her— she has killer style.
Tibi chose Palermo to be featured in their Spring/Summer 2011 campaign that mimics the likes of street style websites like The Sartorialist and Face Hunter. Backdrops were used to make Palermo look like she was in different places like London, Paris, and New York and all the outfits were styled by her.

{Palermo for Tibi}

The reason for my fashion crush (which I have many) is that she doesn’t just stick to one look. She can be photographed chic as can be with her Birkin, skinnies, and a blazer and then the next day at a store opening in an embellished blouse, harem pants, and the most fabulous statement necklace you can imagine.

She recently did her own line of necklaces with Roberta Freymann which was stunning. She is often seen pairing them with crazy printed frocks or a more subdued black leather/white shirt combo. Either way, she gets it right.

The New Red

yesterday was Thursday. you know what that means...StyleBy.Me

Over Thanksgiving Break I purchased the most beautiful Geren Ford dress that is this amazing orangey-red. When buying it, I was told that it would be the “new color for spring”. Now, I see the color popping up everywhere and I am glad I made that purchase.

free to be

I get home today and find something ultra pleasant in my mailbox: the February Free People catalog. Free People comes out with a catalog each month and each month I get just as excited as the month before. The long skirts and hair give off a hippie vibe that has an introverted sex appeal that I love. My favorite Free People location is the one on Spring Street in New York City. They displayed vintage bikes on the walls that were being wrapped in colorful yarn this past summer.

chloe

One of my favorite French brands would have to be Chloe. It was the first fashion house at the time to do something other in haute couture. It was called Pret-a-Porter or otherwise known as Ready-To-Wear.

Today, designers everywhere have followed this trend by developing their own R-to-W collections along with their high-end ones. Along with their original brand, Chloe also has a more afforable line (think Marc by Marc Jacobs) called See by Chloe. It is a younger take on higher-end line and often times adds a little more color.

Hannah MacGibbon was appointed creative director in 2008 and has done the company wonders. The spring collection is full of airy neutrals and soft silhouettes with handbags that have great bow and stud detailing.

I'm Neutral

{take a visit to the fabulous StyleBy.Me where i will be guest blogging every Thursday!}

------------------------------------------------------

I know it is hard to believe that Spring is around the corner when there are mass quantities of snow outside but it is coming. Everyone (including me) has been obsessing over the bright colors that this season will bring. Although they do add a lot of luster to one’s wardrobe, I am equally excited for all the neutral colors as well.

Many designers embraced the trend for their Spring collections. But this isn’t just one camel colored skirt anymore. The clothes are cool and appropriate for Spring.
