free to be

I get home today and find something ultra pleasant in my mailbox: the February Free People catalog. Free People comes out with a catalog each month and each month I get just as excited as the month before. The long skirts and hair give off a hippie vibe that has an introverted sex appeal that I love. My favorite Free People location is the one on Spring Street in New York City. They displayed vintage bikes on the walls that were being wrapped in colorful yarn this past summer.

a city summer

although i still am continuing to sweat for fashion in my semi-fall clothes, summer is nearing its end and colder trends keep approaching. after spending nearly a month in NYC scouring the city for fabulous finds, taking classes at the Fashion Institute, and conquering the subway, i return to HauteSauce with inspiration exuding. while in the city that never sleeps, i couldn't make myself sit at a laptop and write about what was outside of me at that very moment. i would have missed opportunities like seeing Elle's Erin Kaplan from The City walking past me on Broadway and 51st as well as strolling through Saks after Mass at St. Patrick's on a Sunday afternoon.

The Met: American Woman Fashioning a National Identity. This exhibit literally gave me goosebumps.
